After an initial impression of them being very professional we found them to be very pushy and easily influenced by our freeholder who just happened to be a long-term client of Shaws letting her property out through them. Together with the Freeholder's inability to effectively maintain the property and not carry out her role in line with the contract this made our sale unecessarily fraught. Shaws never declared this interest at the start of the sale and then colluded to get the best outcome for the freeholder. Furthermore they neglected to tell us about an alternative offer on our property which clearly lead that potential buyer to complain at their basic administration. They then backtracked and suggested that they were 'aggressive' amongst other slurs against our personalities. Upon us complaining about Shaw's conduct and efficiency in the sale they then accused us of being 'aggressive.' The last straw for us was when as a result of their own ability to invoice our solicitors on time they accused us of not paying them their commission. We are now raising this with the Proprty Ombudsman. We did sell our property relatively quickly but firmly believe in that location / market conditions it sold itself. All in all we have never paid for a service and being treat with such a lack of integrity and courtesy by anyone. We would never use them again and if you put honesty and openess ahead of commission and glossy brochures urge anyone to do the same.
