1. They closed my local branch without warning. I couldn't get an answer on the phone, so called and found a notice on the door. That was 3 years or more ago - I'm still waiting to be told officially that it's closed and my account transferred to Halifax.
2. They didn't do the regular inspections very often.
3. When the last tenancy started it was on a fully managed basis with a 24/7 call centre for the tenant. When the tenant started calling me at weekends I found this had been reduced to office hours - no warning.
4. Tenants moved out 6 weeks ago; ‚£125 taken from their deposit for cleaning but Bridgfords haven't paid this over to me yet, nor returned the ‚£150 remaining balance of the reserve I had with them for emergency repairs. The tenant hasn't had the balance of his deposit refunded yet and keeps texting me about when it's going to happen. Neither of us are getting any response from the office - they won't even acknowledge e mails.
5. Even though I told Bridgfords I was putting the house up for sale they transferred the power bills from EOn to Spark Energy. Spark are useless and as the transfer didn't take place immediately I've had to deal with two suppliers, and am still trying to get Spark to use the correct starting reading (they're using one which is 20000 units less than the right one). Why change supplier? Are they getting a back-hander from Spark, as well as delaying paying out other people's money?
6. The only time you hear from them is when they want money, or advising you to increase the rent - although by the time they've taken their charge, it's 10 months before you see the benefit. Then 2 months after that, they're at you again.
My advice - don't touch them with a bargepole.
