I would have given Gibbs Gillespie a 5* rating if it were not for a small issue right at the end of our tenancy. One of their agents, Danielle, had arranged a viewing with a prospective tenant and entered the flat with the management keys without knocking on the door. I found this to be an invasion of my privacy and asked her shouldn't you be knocking? her was you didn't say you were going to be in. I responded you didn't ask me so she apologised - but this did not feel like a sincere apology. When arranging the viewing she did not ask if I was going to be in or not or if it is okay for them to come in with the management, (other staff members Jack and Natalie always confirm and ask for my permission to use the management keys) however she told her manager Mark a different story when I made a complaint that I confirmed it is okay for her to use the mangement keys to get in. To summarise my conversation with Mark regarding this issue, as I confirmed she can use the management keys (which is a lie) to get in he does not see this being a problem that she came inside without knocking and that an apology is an apology there is no need for it to be sincere. It was my word against her word therefore there is nothing more they can or are willing to do.

If Danielle apologised that she made a mistake rather than lying about it, and if Mark's approach was slightly different and showed they do care about the privacy about their tenants, then I would have given them an excellent rating. I believe customer service should not only be rated based on the availability of the service, but also how the provider handles the problems or concerns one might have. Gibbs were not the best in the latter but also not the worst either.

Having said that, I would still recommend them as they are friendly and easy to talk to than some other agencies out there.
