My wife and I were completely undecided whether to rent our cottage and made several lengthy visits to Chesterfield Reeds Rains before making up our minds. We thought we may have been a nuisance as we kept on asking questions. Nothing could be far from the truth, Heather was patient, professional and very informative. Eventually she made a visit to our cottage and gave us a valuation of the rent chargeable and the setting up fees etcetera. We agreed to go on the market and after filling forms in, setting up insurances, management details, various legal requirements, advertising took place. In a very short space in time tenants were secured.
Heather still continues regular informative contacts with us (and visits) and will make sure we have no concerns. If there is a query Heather will always contact us quickly.
Comment on agent fees
The Cottage was place on the market after agreeing the agents fees. The fees neared the proposed monthly rent which was fine expecting a wait of a few months at least for prospective tenants. However, Reeds Rains secured a tenant within days of placing on the market - that was fantastic. I initially thought the fees were now expensive but with hindsight the fees were very reasonable as a secure and reliable income was quickly put in place.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.

Complaints Procedure

If you wish to complain, you would need to write in the first instance to the branch involved. This branch would acknowledge receipt of your letter/email and then respond within 15 working days. If you were still unhappy with the outcome you would need to contact our Area Manager whose details would be given upon receipt of complaint.
