After trying to find a property in the Powys area, we contacted MMP as they seemed to have a lot of suitable properties. As a trust we are unable to follow the conventional rules that would apply however we were happy to pay all fees any fees that would have been paid by an applying tenant plus up to 6 months rent advance for the landlord. Emails were not always responded to, upon calling nobody seemed to have heard of us despite sending central emails and correspondance for over a month, upon asking about prospective properties we were told they were available, upon making further enquiries, material response was not provided e and then the next contact we would always be told the properties were in the middle of application as if someone else was given preferential treatment.
Upon trying to move forward and giving further information new policy rules were then introduced that had not been disclosed from the outset, which is we were made aware of then we would have been able tocomply.
Tried to contact to discuss moving forward and if there was ian issue, was interrupted when trying to explain then passed on the manager who was extremely rude by being short and curt.
Never ever had such an negative experience working with any estate agents as landlords or as tenants.
cant say we wouldnt use them again because we found them impossible to use in the first place so we do not know what using them would be like.
We suspect form readin their application and their attitude to us not being able to fill in the application as it wasnt applicable, and they didnt have suitable alternative as the reason for their barrier attitude, which would exclude us from procuring property, and they seemed inflexible to modify .
we believe this could be (but do not know) that it is possible to make money from non refundable application and fees .their application also allows them the right to possibly sell on information obtained from their application as they expect you to sign stating they can distribute the information in the application on to 3rd parties meaning that you also pay them to potentially refuse you plus give away your details,to 'apply for one of their properties, plus there is no guarantee the landlord will not pull out.
As stated we made offers to pay on several occassions we did not expect a 'free service'
of course we do not know what the problem was, tried to ask but was shot down and interrupted and didnt get the opportunity to express any concerns
Positives, they have an accessible website with good discriptions and easy to navigate.

As regards selling on any details , this won't happen as we are bound by the Data Protection Act. We do appreciate your position but feel this 'kneejerk' reaction has certainly soured your relationship with us and may have influenced our landlord clients decision not to consider an appplication from any parties such as yourselves. We don't believe that your verbal comments were cut short as you state. The writer has worked with the lady you mentioned in your comments since 1993 and cannot remember anything like this being mentioned before and probably never will again.
Regarding the individual properties you mention, the landlords on these were contacted and they were concerned that a large number of people could have been living in the house, the house would have been let to yourselves with no record as to who would have been occupying the property and a lack of control over the tenants thereafter. In their opinion this would certainly not have been acceptable to them.
Don't shoot the messenger!
