This has been a really good experience all round for my family, as selling the family home was a challenge for us, having lived there for over 18 years.
The house went up for sale at the beginning of November 2014. I had 3 Estate Agents come and quote a price for selling and recomend the amount a should put the property on for. Of the 3, Richard Lowth was the cheapest and priced most realistically. One of the others (Andrew Snape) quoted a VERY unrealistic price (‚£20k above) and when I suggested that I thought it was unrealistic, changed to the same amount as Lowth's, and when they quoted a fee that was in excess of Lowth's went for a price match in a clear desparate bid for the business. I like to work with a company who is realistic and will do the job at a realistic price.
I was told that the house would sell very quickly at the price we'd put it on for, and after only 2 weeks, We'd had in excess of 20 viewings and 2 offers (One at full asking price, although they were timewasters!) After 4 weeks I accepeted an offer that I was happy with. That sale proceeded at a good rate at first and the plan was to exchange before Christmas. Sadly, the purchasers were clearly being advised by some outsider (Probably family member) and trid to use a number of ways to reduce the price..... So they could build a conservatory. There was no way I was going to fund a conservatory for someone else and ultimately I pulled the sale and put the house back on the market.
Almost immediately, Lowth's managed to get back in touch with another interested couple and the sale then proceeded without a hitch.
Emily and Lydia were fantastic throughout and Richard and Janet were totally proffessional all the way.
I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND that if you are looking to sell around Cheadle Hulme or Poynton, that you should use Richard Lowth and Co.
They do what they say, and stick to the price they agree.
