I recently moved my flat, both my old flat and the new flats are letted by House and Sons. In the new flat, cleaning was not done properly. Every where it was very dirty and the carpets were also very dirty. Also lot of stuffs were not in good condition including the cracked window which is leaking lot of cold air inside. I reported all these issues in mail and also went in person and informed the about the issues. They said they will send somebody to look into the issue. But Even after 1 week, they haven't sent anybody for checking.
In the meantime, they have sent checkout report for my old flat. In the report, they said they are going to charge me ‚£319 for checkout+ maintanance + Professional cleaning + Carpet cleaning. They mentioned lot of items which where were already mentioned in the inventory.Also they charged lot of money for carpet and professional cleaning. I thought it was unfair, Because they are charging lot of money for professional and carpet cleaning. But they haven't done the cleaning for both my old and new flat. I replied them and told them about my frustrations.
After 2 days, they send out the revised checkout report, now they increased the amount to ‚£638 from ‚£319 ( which was exactly the double the amount ). I was bit taken back by the revised report. In the revised report, they mentioned that the matresses in both the rooms are having strains and they wanted to replace the mattresses. I replied them saying it was already there. These strains were already there in the materesses in the bottom. But we havent noticed because we never flipped.I try to explain them. But never in a mood to listen. They simply said either accept or we'll file a dispute and mentioned that dispute will take minimum 60 days to sorted out. I was totally cornered and I dont have an option. Even after vacated my previous flat in very good condition, I ended up paying ‚£638. That too just because I raises some concern about their un-professionalism, they simply revised and hiked the amount by double.
They created problems in both the flats. In the current flat, they are not doing any maintenance works. In the lounge and the master bedroom, cold air is leaking through the gap and the window crack, we are not able to sleep in the flat even after putting the heater. They checked out the flat around 2PM from the previous tenants and handed over me at 3PM. So you can imagine what kind of cleaning and maintanacw works they might have done.
This has happpened not only for me, but has happened to lot of others as well. Few of my friends came to Bournemouth for a 1 year assignment. They rented a house through house and sons and when they vacated House and sons has deducted full deposit amount citing various reasons. They are now not in UK and they are not in a position to file a dispute.
They are behaving literally like a looters and dont have any business ethics
So I would request everybody in the group to be aware of House and Sons.
