The service provided by Lee Glome and Barry Wild was of a good level. They both clearly had a number of years experince in the local market. On the downside, the viewings and feedback from the viewings were not always communicated or confirmed on a timely basis. I felt that the price that Roman's initally marketed the property was overpriced and believe that Romans should have completed their own assessment of the property rather than putting on the market at the same price as the previous agent. This would have resulted in us selling the property quicker.
Once the offer on our property was accepted, we dealt with the move team. I found this process frustrating and inefficient. We deal with Lisa Roe on the sale of our property and Natalie Boyd on the purchase of our property from Romans. I struggled to get hold of the move team, with their phones permanently diverted to voicemail and email messages responded to at the end of the day. In addition, there were a number of queries from the buyers of our house. Our move managers approach to these queries was to copy/paste emails intended for her straight onto our buyers. We fequently had to recert back to Lee Gome and his team in Lower Earley to get a response or update on the status of our house sale/purchase.
What agent could do to change your mind?
I would not use Romans again based on the experience we had with Romans Wokingham. The agent was not upfront with us relating to subsidance and drainage issues at the Arthur Road property we were purchasing. At no point in the process did the agent or the owners tell us that there were recent subsidence issues at the property, resulting in the conservatory being re-build in May 2011. Once we were made aware of the issue, via a report from our solicitor, the move manager and the manager of Romans Wokingham branch did not respond to our request for additonal information relating to the issues at the property on a timely basis and did not feel that they handled us in a professional manner. This de-traced from the overall Roman's experience and from the good service we received from the Lower Early branch.
