I felt very rushed into making a decision and quite pressured to pay money early. The rooms were average for the price. I was told there was parking included in the rent but then none of the staff knew how to arrange it. A lot of paperwork was required, and they insisted on a guarantor letter from my parents who are both retired and I have a good job and work full time. There was always a long wait at the office and any assistance was hard to come by
Through the initial process there were lots of hidden fees they insisted upon and reported they were part of the deposit but a lot of the money didn't go into the deposit protection scheme so they denied all knowledge of it at the end. Poor customer service and they were very unclear, there were lots of confusions with rental periods and I ended up having to move back to my parents house for a month as they refused to extend my contract despite telling me when I viewed the house that I could. I was quite unhappy overall as were my housemates at the time. None of us would recommend the city rooms to anyone.

Been in a house where I used to pay 1083£ pound a month for nothing !
Heater and hot water was missing almost all the time I’ve been in there and for them the priority was make money and not adjust the boiler!

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
Complaints Procedure

It is very difficult for us to understand what you believe went wrong, what we have done in order to avoid any misunderstandings or "hidden fees" is to disclose any payment you have to do in order to move in. You received a paper called "Holding Deposit" that paper explains how much you pay and for what reason you are paying. You were kindly asked to read and sign before even paying any money towards the booking.
To make it more simple for you, there are no "hidden fees" only a one time only registration fee of £150 pounds and or a renewal fee £50 pounds which are perfectly normal within the property industry business.
