This company is absolutely rubbish. Strongly recommend you not to use this agency if you are buying a house. We had a terrible experience when trying to buy a flat through them in Forest Gate. From the very first viewing they were lying about the flat and providing false information.
At the time we were not aware of all the lies, so we made an offer, which was accepted. We went about appointing a solicitor and arranging a mortgage as instructed by Haart. However, nothing was moving forwards from the estate agents' side and our solicitor had to chase them up, upon which they informed our solicitor that they would not be sending out the sales memo until a mortgage had been secured. I, however, had not been informed about this and when I called up to ask what was going on, Paul the Stratford branch manager was outright rude and defensive.
Through chance we found out that the seller had accepted 2 other offers, which Haart did not inform us about. At this point we decided to withdraw our offer because of the lack of transparency and by then obvious lies about the property, as well as the terrible customer service we had received. This turned out to be the right decision, as it later turned out that the external walls of the house were structurally unsound and that alterations made to the roof, which had weakened the house's foundation and repairs would have cost a fortune. I suspect Haart knew all along and were not letting on.
We also received a very unpleasant phone call from Paul when we decided to withdraw our offer, which made us even more confident that we had made the right decision. We will not go near another property advertised by Haart in the future and if you don't want to be scammed or lied to, I would recommend you do the same.
