Its a shame you can't put 0 stars...
All was proceeding well with viewings and discussions until we made the mistake of letting them know we were interested in the property.
That was the turning point, and every call that was made, Phil would ask if we had signed the paperwork yet. He also changed the details of the property, and if I hadn't asked about what specifically came with the flat, I get the feeling we wouldn't have known until we had signed the agreement.
The pressure to fill in the paperwork, and pay the reservation fee was phenomenal, and only once we had submitted card details did we find out what other hidden costs they had. When we asked for a refund, the standard "No" was given, as expected, leaving us no option but to contact the Ombudsman and Trading Standards.
I would warn people to do your homework, and talk to people that have had dealings with ANY agent, before making a final decision. You may not get off as lightly as we have.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Friendlier Staff,
Have ALL of their costs clearly displayed (not hidden),
Not pressure people into accepting something or giving their card details away,
Have REAL offices where REAL people can be met and spoken to in person
