My property was put on the market 1st September, 2014. I had, up to that date, used Northwood as my letting agent for nearly 2.5 years, but I decided to sell the property. I had several offers within a couple of weeks, although my eventual buyer had problems with his purchaser and had to wait to find a replacement one. Northwood kept me up-to-date with what was happening and I completed the sale on 16th January, 2016.
Comment on agent fees
I was told what the fees would be from the beginning. I think 2% is the going rate for most estate agents.

As previously explained, we have acted correctly at all times in accordance with our contract with you. Whilst we acknowledge that this has not been to your satisfaction, you did sign the contract and agreed to adhere to its terms which served you correctly for a number of years. The Northwood process meant that, having signed a letting contract with them for 2 years, we received a monthly income (annual rent less normal fees and an assumed empty period a year divide by 12) regardless of whether the house was occupied or not. Northwood were our tenants and they sub-let it. This gave us a feeling of financial stability.
