I'm based in Manchester city centre. I live in a flat leased from Edenvale UK. I have had a horrific and traumatizing experience with them, and would strongly urge EVERYBODY reading this to stay clear of them.
From the very beginning there were problems with viewing the flat, which ended up with me being stood up by them. However, I managed to overcome that (without any of their help mind you) and entered into a one-year contract. The little white lies followed soon after when I requested the mailbox key be delivered using a recorded service. Needless to say, nothing arrived. I rung them up after a week and was told that it had been sent out. This went on for another week, and when I rang them again they promised to send a new one out. So much for that - I ended up traveling to their offices just to pick the miserable key up after nearly a month of not being able to access my mail.
Everything was relatively incident-free until the ninth month. I received a call from Edenvale one morning and was informed that the landlord wanted the flat back, and I had to vacate the premises by the end of the tenth month. That put me in a state of extreme distress. When I brought up the subject of it being a one-year contract, they told me (in the rudest manner possible) that they were entitled to do whatever they wanted as the last two months of the lease had not been paid for yet. I made a trip down to their offices the following day, and after explaining in no uncertain terms that they had no right to throw me out like that, they relented and agreed to see the rest of the contract out. I left payment for the remainder of the duration on the spot.
The nightmare wasn't over yet. Today afternoon (on my off day from work), I was sleeping in when I heard voices coming from the kitchen. Alarmed, I made my way out of the bedroom and saw a lettings agent with two prospective customers having a look around the flat. The agent was taken aback by my presence, and explained that he was conducting a viewing. When I told him I hadn't received any notice, he rudely replied "Yeah just let me finish with this, I'm almost done".
I want nothing more than to move out next month and get my security deposit back. These people are XXXXXXXXXX and no words can possibly do justice in explaining their behaviour. Deal with them at your own peril.
