I found Michelle to be extremely responsive, professional and helpful in my communication with her. All questions were dealt with promptly and efficiently to the best of her ability.
The reason for my "average" rating is because of my overall experience with City Docklands reflects this. Had I been able to give Michelle an individual rating I would have scored her as "good".
The average rating is due to several interactions with City Docklands (Michelle excluded) which were not as positive. Examples include:
Being unable to reach Kosh Miah during the initial renting stages, signing contracts etc and being unable to confirm progress on the flat. This was an extremely stressful time and was not helped by lack of communication.
Not enough time between the previous tenant vacating and my tenancy beginning. This meant that the flat was not completely ready for me to move into on the start date of my tenancy. E.g. there was no light in the bathroom for over a week (and no window). Lights that were not working in the living room had to be maintained by an external electrician organised by myself and paid for by the landlord after requests for the maintenance engineer to visit did not result in the desired outcome (i.e. he said the lights were fixed but there were several inaccuracies in his report that led me to suspect he had not actually visited the property). There were many items remaining from the previous tenant such as law textbooks which I ended up having to remove myself. In this case, Michelle was very helpful in liaising with the landlord over what should remain in the property, but I feel more effort should have been made to ensure the flat was in a suitable state for me to move into.
When I was moving out, I was not given 24 hours notice before viewings at any stage, and only agreed to these to ensure that the flat could be let quickly. On one occasion the agent (Jaspal) did not attend a scheduled viewing. Although he was very apologetic, I was home and felt obliged to let the prospective tenants in as they had travelled some distance. This potentially carried risks as I was a lone female in the flat. I was also not kept sufficiently informed as to whether the flat had been let, and therefore was unsure for some time whether any further viewings were to occur.
Overall, my impression of City Docklands has been average in comparison to other letting agents. This is as a result of good service from my property manager (Michelle), but unfortunately this standard was not matched by others in the agency.
