I am disgusted by the treatment of myself by Franklyn James, having to chase up emails sent, being spoken to rudely on the phone and hung up by the managing director. I had an issue of my address being used by another person, for a property Franklyn James were letting, that has nothing to do with me. This was given to Franklyn James and not correct however when I raised my concerns this use was not taken at all seriously by the company, neither was the complaint initially and I had to ask several times over for their complaint procedure and code of conduct. This complaint is now going through the Property Ombusman as I do not believe enough reference checks were made by Franklyn James on this tenant and therefore my address used on the contract.

Franklyn James, you failed to mention in your reply that you did not apologise for your abrupt manner and the reason your managing director felt it necessary to hang up. This suggests that you were pushed into a corner and reacted inappropriately and unprofessionally. I however failed to mention that the referencing agency that Franklyn James has used relating to this tenancy agreement has also had a complaint made against them which is currently being investigated. I also failed to add the information's commissioner's office is also involved as result of your incompetency. Why was the property you let abandoned by the tenant? Why did you place a notice on the recipients property door informing people that the tenant had abandoned the property? This highlights that maybe there was an issue with the tenants credentials after all? Maybe you will understand my vulnerability and persistence in trying to convince you to convince me that my home was protected.
In light of the above and as being a previous landlord myself, I would certainly not have been too pleased to pay for a shoddy service.

In response to the above review, surely it should not matter whether a person is a client of an estate agent or not, everyone has the right to know if their address has been used in the correct manner especially when the client Sandjeep is referring to has abused his/her address previously. Franklyn James, you were obviously aware of this situation yet you clearly showed no compassion towards their concerns. If you had then why would you feel the need to hang up? This is very unprofessional and I would feel reluctant to recommend your company to family and friends

Franklyn James are aware of the matter being referred to and it is important to note that this person is not a client of our agency and that the person having utilised the address is the ex-partner of the reviewer. We are able to confirm that all relevant checks were completed on the party who undertook the tenancy and therefore oppose the comments suggested by the reviewer. Franklyn James are not able to disclose information to the reviewer, despite the requests, due to The Data Protection Act and this information has been explained in detail during direct communication which has taken place. As an agency we have simply followed the required guidelines as per The Data Protection Act. The matter raised has been taken seriously and is in the process of being responded to accordingly.
