Quite possibly the most shocking experience I have had in dealing with an estate agent.
From initially communicating the wrong information of fundamental details such as is the property leasehold or freehold to unnecessarily getting involved in the communication between solicitors causing further delays. Admittedly the seller's solicitor was pretty bad at turning things around, but the agents at Sanderson James do not think twice about calling you up and blaming you for it. They are very unprofessional. We (seller and I) had reached an agreement to get the property cleaned and some repairs done, Sanderson James agents assured me that the work was being done that day, I only found when I went to inspect it 3 days later that they hadn't even started until the day of the inspection, and it was incomplete.
If you want an estate agent that will cut every corner possible, harass you on the phone for no good reason, and mess up on fundamentals like not giving you all the keys to property you bought (and claiming that they have!) then this estate agent is what you are looking for. For all others, I would say avoid like the plague.
What agent could do to change your mind?
EVERYTHING needs addressing, from customer relations, to common sense to acting professionally, to knowing the law rather than assuming it. The purchase would have gone through quicker and smoother if the estate agent was not there. The same agent tenanted the property I was buying, yet they still managed to not get the property cleaned or looked at until the starting chasing the sale up. I really hope I never have to deal with these individuals again, and I hope that this review helps someone to avoid a terrible estate agent. I had to make so many concessions to accommodate for the incompetence of the estate agent, that I cannot stress enough what a bad idea it is to use thisI e company. To be completely fair I must say that when I dealt with Bianca and Jordan at the company I was given straight answers and never had the complete incompetence that xperienced with the rest of the staff there. I suppose a great improvement would be for those 2 individuals to educate their colleagues on the etiquette and behaviour expected. Clearly most of the staff their are solely driven on the commission in a property sale, it is strange that they do not understand that a good service will translate into more inevitable commission.

Hello and thank you for your review, as you are aware this was not your average house sale and there were a lot of hiccups along the way. We have our vendors best interest at heart and in respect we work very hard to try and get sales through quickly and as easy as possible. The issues that came to light when you was buying the property were solely out of our hands and due to the age of the property and information requested it wasn't plain sailing as you will agree. As for the repairs on the property the vendor was not responsible for them and changing broken light bulbs was not condemned an emergency. Due to the repairs requested by yourself, the vendor (even though not responsible) out of the goodness of his heart agreed to split the cost even though he did not need to as previously he accepted your offer which was £15,000 under the asking price. The only reason we had an urgency to get this completed was because our vendor was at risk of losing the house he was buying and the only thing that was holding it up was the fact the property had not been cleaned. I do understand that when you buy a property you want everything to be perfect and we are really sorry that you feel you have had a bad experience with Sanderson James. We try to make everyone's buying and selling experience as enjoyable as we can even though everybody knows it’s not as simple as that especially if you’re buying a very old property issues can pop up. I ensure you that all members of staff except ones currently in training are educated to a high standard and are very experienced in this field of work. We pride ourselves on doing a good job for our vendors and the same goes for the person buying their property, we will do anything in our power to make sure they are happy along with someone buying their property. We believe the vendor is very happy with the work we put into this sale as it took over 3 months to complete, I am truly sorry if we caused you stress and believe me that was not our intentions but buying a property can be a stressful time and we did offer you advise time and time again but if I recall you would only take advice and updates from your solicitor so we were restricted to what we could do for you.

We will take into account what issues you have raised but we believe we did everything and more to assure this sale went through as smoothly as possible. The vendor in this case was very happy with the sale and I'm sorry you wasn't. If there is anything Sanderson James can do please don't hesitate in contacting us and we will try our up most best to change your opinion.

Many Thanks
Emma O'Rourke (dealt with your sale from start to finish)

Their fees are ridiculous for even a new reference to move out etc, wasted thousands on a property that cannot be utilised so Jennifer can go round in her Audi
