Mickelle was every helpful at each and every step I had to go through to get the tenancy agreement. He's a polite and good-mannered individual. As is his colleague Anton. Anton was kind enough to go back to the property with me on the day of my moving-in and witness all the issues (not many, though) that I reported (he didn't have to but offered help in this respect). All in all, a very seamless and to-the-point experience.
Comment on agent fees
Well, if one seriously wants to rent a flat and one has to pay 400 pounds (non-refundable) just to show "good will", then one certainly cannot be happy about it. Why would just, say, 100 not be enough? It's a lot of money for many people, even those that earn relatively good money. Pair this with the fact that I had to pay 2300+ pounds up-front and you can immediately feel the pain as well...

What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent could have been honest with me. I apreciate there may be the odd problem from time to time and gave them more then enough chances to rectify any mistakes that were made. However, continual lies, bad attitude and a flagrant disregard for the laws governing their operation mean that I would never ever trust them again with anything, especially not something so important as my home.
