We were tenants for approximately two years and unfortunately our experience of Bright was very poor. During our time there the washing machine, oven and balcony door were all broken. The balcony door was on a bedroom meaning there was no fire escape from the room, as it couldn't be opened. All repairs took a long time for Bright to carry out. We did a lot of chasing and after three months of the balcony door being broken I had to get the council involved. Bright told the council they had been trying to contact us to arrange the repair, which was untrue. Any time something broke we had to do so much chasing to get a repair, it was very stressful. The employees didn't appear to speak to eachother as we were emailed by both James and Lisa about the same issues, which was incredibly frustrating. Lisa in particular was very rude on the phone, particularly after the council contacted them. She didn't take any responsibility for any delays and we didn't receive an apology. When we came to move out they said they wouldn't agree to us having any of our deposit back unless we agreed to them having £50 for 'cleaning' which had been carried out by a company registered where they used to be registered. We were effectively held to ransom, as to claim the whole amount back through court would have taken months.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Fixed things quickly and not been so difficult to deal with. I rented for 12 years in Manchester city centre and have never dealt with a letting agency as incompetent as them.
