A friend of mine, after recently moving homes and paying out nearly £4k in fees to the estate agent, suggested to me I use eMoov to assist me in the process of selling my home.
I took that advice and I do not exaggerate when I say it was a brilliant advice.
It was a bit strange at first, no face to face like usual, but then that was good because there was no hard sell and a stranger in my home staying longer than I wanted.
I didn't take the offer up with eMoov after the first call as although the chap I spoke to was very pleasant, informative and definitely not 'pushy', I was still a little hesitant.
Thankfully, I spoke with other friends and looked online a bit more and very quickly convinced myself eMoov was for me.
The service since has been first class.
I was nervous paying up front but I need not have been. The lady that came to photograph my home and complete the EPC was very professional, polite and had my proof completed within 24 hours.
Within another few hours I was on all the best house hunting websites and then the phone began to ring...and ring...and ring. Viewings booked in within hours of being online.
We had an offer within 2 days and sold a day later.
Since then, my case has been expertly handled by Louise and Ben in particular.
I must stress though, that no matter when I've called and no matter who I've spoken to, every single person has been amazing to deal with.
No one ever sounds uninterested, or tired, or rude or not giving the impression they 'want' to help you.
As we moved along, through no fault of ours (or eMoovs) things got a bit tricky and began to drag on and on.
We were in a horrible position of having to give our buyer the most insane amount of trust that they would be able to proceed again after an 'unforeseen delay', which set us back 5 weeks in the end.
Moving home with our current system in England is ridiculously stressful but luckily for me, I had eMoov behind me.
Over the last horrible 5 weeks, I had cause to contact eMoov a number of times because I was getting increasingly worried and extremely stressed.
There were key times in that period that the eMoov team (but I wish to single out Louise for special praise) got involved and really made things happen.
Not afraid to challenge when necessary and made me really feel I had people behind me, fighting for me. It made all the difference, it really did.
Louise was sensational in her handling of my buyer and the other professionals involved in the chain.
Although I never wish to move home again, I can categorically state that if I do, I'll be using eMoov.
If you are like I was, unsure about trying eMoov because they're not 'the norm', do not be, use them, they are first class.
Oh and I also used eMoov's conveyancing service which has also been first class.
Thank you so much to the whole team at eMoov!
Comment on agent fees
Under ‚£500 - exceptional value when 2 local agents both wanted 1.5% of the value of my sale, which would have been well over ‚£2k.
Fixed fees for selling and buying my new home using eMoov's conveyancing too meant that everything cost me under ‚£2k, saving me thousands of pounds.
