I advertised my property with eMoov and I have to say the service has been appalling. They have a few good members of staff but the majority were very poor. Communication was terrible, we had one person knock the door and ask if we were still selling the property as they wanted to look around but hadn't heard back from the agent (we didn't even know about this person) and this was only a few weeks after going with eMoov. In the end we asked some friends to contact emoov about our property and to ask for information and to also send for brochure requests online (to check if they were replying to people). These people were never contacted and I dread to think of how many potential purchasers we lost due to their poor service.

I was told to visit the property (we had moved out of our house at this point) at 7pm one evening to show someone around. At 7.45pm I rang to ask if the person was still attending and I was told by emoov that they would contact the person to find out and then call me back. I had to ring them back at 7.55pm as I knew they closed at 8.00pm (I never did get a call back). The person on the phone told me that they couldn't help me as the office was closing at 8pm and that they wouldn't call the viewer as they had to leave the office by 8!!

My parents were selling their property at the same time as me and also used eMoov and I was being contacted about viewings for their property and vice versa! My house is a 2 bed small cottage, under £200k and my parents have a 10,000 square foot house worth over a £million. You can imagine the embarrassment when people turned up at the wrong house!!

If you are lucky enough to deal with the few good members of staff and your house has good foot fall then maybe consider using them. I wish I had gone with another company or used a conventional estate agent. I would never use them again and I would advise others to look elsewhere. The majority of their reviews are positive and perhaps I was one of the unfortunate ones to receive a poor service. But I feel it only fair to share my experience as I really do think they have had a detrimental effect on us selling our house.

We also had 2 offers on our property and never heard any more from eMoov after going back with a counter offer, when we asked why - they said that if people don't reply to their emails or missed calls then they cant help (no way a conventional agent looking for commission would take this view point). I felt it was like they had received my money up front and then stopped trying.

If you do want to use eMoov then I would suggest going for one of the deals where they receive more payment on the sale of your property as well.

The fees were the biggest attraction to me but I would definitely go for a more conventional sales method next time where there is an incentive in selling the property for the agent. Emoov didn't care once they had received our money. This is how it felt to us anyway.

I'm disappointed that Nick has taken issue with our service. It's our absolute priority to deliver a great experience.

We introduced 13 viewers in total and it seems that there were four that cancelled or simply did not show up. This is always frustrating for both seller and agent.

It is categorically the case that ALL enquiries received are responded to whether by telephone or email. Of course some do not subsequently respond to us unfortunately. Our opening hours are more extensive than just about anyone else and whilst we always try to accommodate all queries whenever they arise, an issue so late into the evening may sometimes have to be resolved the next day.

It appears that there has been some confusion over one or two viewings with regard to contact due to the fact that Nick was acting as the viewing point of contact for both properties that were listed with us at the same time. I apologise for these misunderstandings. This issue did not lead to any lost opportunities, just a call or two in error, but we did made a mistake and I understand how irritating that can be.

It is not at all true to say that we lose interest in our customers. Far from it. In fact we received offers on Nick's property from two separate buyers but that unfortunately were rejected as too low. In both instances we attempted to persuade the interested parties to increase and one did. The other was subsequently concerned about the new HS2 track being constructed close by and we informed Nick of both outcomes which, regretfully, came to nothing despite our best efforts.

I'm aware that Nick has been trying to sell his home since May 2013 with other local agents too, unsuccessfully so far. However despite this I'd like to offer Nick a partial refund of our fee as a gesture in order to demonstrate how seriously I take our customer service commitment. I'll be contacting him to propose this today.
