AVOID AT ALL COSTS
This agency is to be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS, and we agree with all the negative reviews on this site. We do wish we found this site sooner as well.
We bought a flat through Times Place. When we first met Maj, we thought what a nice agent, one we can trust. We were so wrong!
Throughout the start of the sale, he was the good agent, i.e. every time we would ring, he would tell us how well everything is going, and that there are no problems.
As per the other reviews, the agency waited until we spend money on the valuation and the solicitor costs, and then they told us how the seller wanted more money. It became obvious that the seller and the agency were in this together. The agency even put our flat back on the market without telling us, so we can feel the pressure to give more money to the seller. When we challenged the agency, they blamed the seller, and it was obvious that both the seller and the agency, were in it together.
Moreover, the agency demanded extra costs for acquiring property just before exchange, which is something that we were never told up front and would have lost more money if we pulled out at that point.
Zak called us and was very rude, stating that we should pay that cost, because it is a cost that was always discussed - which it never was, and it was never in the contract.
Beware:
- The agency is working for the seller - NOT THE BUYER, and they make it very obvious at the end of the sale
- The agency will agree a price with you, and last minute, they will say that the seller wants more money. They do it, when you are down the line, when you have spent a lot of money for the valuation and the solicitor fees, when you are emotionally involved with the place, when you have missed out on other properties because you thought you are set on a place, so you can feel obliged to buy the property. You will figure out that this was their game plan, from the start.
- They will state that they discussed a fee with you at the start of the sale, which was never never discussed, and it was never in the contract. It is another way for both the seller and the agency to get more money out of you.
- Zak became rude to us, by calling us very frequently a few days before exchange, trying to blame us, that we should pay all the new fees and hidden costs.
Go to a reputable agency - avoid this family business, that is not regulated by anyone, but themselves
