In regards to your situation, normally it is at the vendor's discretion whether they decide they can get more for their property and are willing to stay in the market for longer. Unfortunately, often the markets move quickly; the vendor was aware of this and decided to take the opportunity. This is one of the reasons we aim to be pro-active on the sales progression side and push towards completion from our end to ensure both parties are happy. Thus, as you stated above we also thought everything was going well". Moving forward I ensured that I informed you promptly and offered you the opportunity to revise your offer at the request of the seller. You were than able to make an informed decision of whether to proceed further with the sale. I will assert myself and state that at no point was there any blackmailing involved. In your case, you weighed up the pros and cons and chose to proceed.
