This company is the exact reason why I try and avoid estate agents at all costs. I am literally disgusted with the 'service' I received a short while ago from this company.
To cut a long story short; I found a property that I wanted, I was immediately hit with lot's of intrusive and irrelevant questions. This person basically tried to make me feel a) stupid and b) like I was not a good enough customer because myself and my partner are self employed.
I tried to arrange a second viewing to this property and she told me that I could not go on the day I wanted to because the office was closed even though the landlady specifically said that I could have her phone number and arrange with her to visit the property when I wanted and when was convenient for her.
In the meantime the house was let to somebody else. This I could not believe when I specifically told her that I wanted it and just needed a second viewing to show my partner. I run a successful business and have very similar situations with my customers. However, I always put my customers first and I am fair. Here, the letting agent was not being fair or providing good customer service. Hence, probably why I have read so many bad reviews for this company. In hindsight I am very happy that I did not get the property because having to deal with a company that is "*" would have made my life a living hell!

Thank you for your feedback Chelsee. Properties are always assessed based on the original Inventory/Schedule of Condition. Ultimately it is the Landlord who decides whether to pursue any claim against a deposit, not the Agent. I understand that a Property Manager is currently in discussion with you regarding the deposit claim and that the cleaning issues did involve more than removing dust. Having checked the records a couple of viewings didn't take place as the clients didn't turn up for the appointment, which we understand is very frustrating. Deposit releases are only possible once the Landlord confirms this in writing, and when we received your call chasing this we contacted the Landlord again and arranged release the same day as their email arrived. I am very sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the service you have received. We do aim to give the highest possible level of service. We have a very high number of positive reviews on the allAgents website (ranking 16th in the UK in 2013) with over 98% positive reviews to date, reflecting the service that we provide.
I have looked into this matter and understand from the information you have provided and our notes confirm that you originally viewed this property on Thursday 14th August. You then contacted us to arrange a 2nd viewing. I can confirm that the property was let on Saturday 16th August so before any 2nd viewing was able to take place. Had you been in a position to make an offer on/before that Saturday then it would have been passed to the Landlord to consider with any other offers.
At present the level of applicants applying for each property is high and properties are often let within a few days of marketing commencing. To assist our Landlord clients we do try to obtain as much relevant information, whether it be financial situation or other. The fact that you and your partner are self employed is certainly not an issue for us as an agency, but reference companies will usually request at least 1 full tax year of company accounts to pass their criteria. (We try to prevent applicants wasting money on agency fees when we know that there will be issues going through the reference process).
