I am writing as an ex-potential tenant. This issue has happened not long ago but I cannot forget nor forgive myself for going to B&R Hampstead branch in search for a flat to rent. I actually signed the contract and paid the deposit of ‚£900 under false promises. I went to seek a reasonable resolution with the "manager" at Hampstead, Nick Sefton. The way he dealt with myself as a customer, and in general, was appalling. I sincerely question his ability and qualification in being a lettings manager - very defensive, rude, provoking, unwilling, and unreasonable. Never addressed the issue, never had the intention to resolve amicable, only kept finding faults to blame me, and using personal circumstances to back up his claims. Extremely unprofessional and inadequate.
I took this matter to the lettings director MARC VON Something, and to even greater shock, this Director behaved no better than Nick. Not only did he have no intention of resolving the issue, as he was already fed with the stories by Nick before hand and obviously listened to his BS, never discussed the matter at all, instead threatened to say that he knows the minister in the country where I came from, there was no point to that. If a person this high up in the company behaves this way, it is very clear the consequences of renting a flat through them = even more monetary loss, as well as your time and energy wasted on these guys. I decided to not pursue the tenancy as they breached the terms, they refused to refund me my deposit (what a surprise). I had to send in a legal letter and they only refunded half. For my own sake, I left it at that because dealing with these guys ARE AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE AND WASTE OF TIME.
I wouldn't regard any respond they have to say, even if they offered me free agency fees in the next lettings.
This review has been way overdue, I hope this helps any potential tenant or landlord when considering using them.
BOTTOM LINE: AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

There was no way this agent could help. My money was taken and kept.

Like all genuine 1 star reviews with credible horrible experiences in detail, we would never leave a name and number. What sense would it make? It only leaves room for you to potentially harass me. For a potential tenant to share his experience 2 years later and to come back to respond to you, it goes to show the extent and effect of B&R's horrible service. After you have unrightfully kept my money, this is payback time to spread awareness and make sure people reading this are fully aware of the very negative repercussions in dealing with B&R.
True. It shouldn't be in any professional's nature to quote ministers or such. Like yourself, I was shocked and in disbelief. Saying such things holds a lot of weight and it shouldn't be forgotten easily, it seems like you say these things every other day in your profession. Surprise.
After numerous emails, several in-office appointments with Nick, phone calls to B&R and even to yourself, I can safely say you were given all the chances to resolve it. It is too late and nothing will change the fact that B&R has kept my money unrightfully. You have lost a potential tenant and landlord for life.
