Horrific experience. I moved out of this disgusting companies property earlier this year in what was one of the most stressfull and appalling experiences of MY LIFE.. Essentially we were subjected to incompetence on an unimaginable scale and sheer disdain from this company throughout our tenancy.

We were subjected to a massive leak from the property above bathroom which went on for 8 months of our tenancy. This casued daily deluges of water to come in every day to both bedrooms which we had to mop up and have an industrial humidifier to dry the carpets. This cost lots of money in electricity not to mention unbelievable stress.

Their property Manager did NOTHING to fix the problem. He was by far the most incompetent imbecile i have every come across in any walk of life.

We had agreed with the landlord through this property manager Gary Isaac of a reduction in rent of 50% while these horrendous leakages was going on. I will add we were also subjected to an out of service lift for over 6 months at this same time.!! People all over the building were being given reductions for this. So all in all we thought this was a fair compensation for all the stress and grief of these issues whilst they were hopefully going to be fixed. We had his confirmation in writing over email that the landlord had agreed to this reduction from Gary Isaac.

Then we pay a deposit to move to another property and to move out in April and this guy turns around and says the landlord has now not agreed to the reductions and will only give £1000 compensation!!!! These b@stards trapped us in to having pay the remaining balance on the rent as they would not give us any reference until we did,. Therefore we were forced to pay it in order that we wouldn't lose our deposit on our new property,. They are the utter lowest of the low.

They did absolutely nothing to fix the leak issues despite nearly 1000 emails and phone calls we made to them !! They would just continually ignore us or pretend to be out of the office. It was so frustating. but as soon as we went to move out people were falling over themselves to come and fix up the flat !! For the next suckers to arrive !!. Their property manager is so stupid he sent an email to myself and the other tenant slagging us off that he intended to send to the building contractor. ! This After all they put us through.!!

We had another property with them before this and in the bulding the lift was broken so they agreed as we were on the top floor that we could stay on an extra couple of days until the fixed the lift for us to move out. They then called us on the morning we were meant to move out saying the other tenants were outside the property waiting to move in which caused total chaos!! They should be banned from the market.

I will also add this all happened under the new ownership Thamesview also who were implicit in their overseeing of this fiasco. So don't let the new ownership or emails from Thamesview 'smokescreen' fool you.

Id rather deal with the Mafia or loan sharks in a business agreement . At least they would have more morals than this disgrace of a company. I was all set to bring this case to the ombudsman but to be honest it affected my well being so much i just had to let it go and move on totally.

Needless to say but do not dream of every going near this company.!!

Comment on agent fees
Shambles. They tried to charge us additional fees at the end of the tenancy as they apparently undercharged us when we moved in despite providing us a legal invoice which was paid in full. Sure this is illegal right.?

I already escalated all these issues to your managing director Matthew Patient who did NOTHING to sort it out. So stop trying to appear like you care. You are a despicable company who will eventually get whats coming to it.

This company is quick to take your money, but slow to do any other part of their job. They take months to fix anything that is their responsibiltiy , including broken appliances, plumbing etc. Also, once you move out, don't expect your deposit to be returned ...

They're a bunch of scammers. Not returning deposits on time, not fixing any maintenance they're responsible for, getting as much money as they can from their tenants and using missleading information with the landlords they operate. Worst tenant experience in 10 years privately renting in London

Hi, I have just read your feedback regarding the service provided by Square Mile. As a tenant of ours you are aware that the ownership of Square Mile recently changed hands and I am sorry if you have been unhappy with the service provided in the past. Whilst we might not be able to help on all previous issues, moving forward we are bringing the level of service up to a much higher standard and I am confident that you will see a change in service levels.
