'What The Landlord Says'
When we moved from Islington to Brockley 8 years ago we knew we had found our slice of paradise. Quiet tree lined streets with beautiful huge period properties, Hilly Fields with its amazing views of London and a strong community feeling between neighbours and local business owners. We were fortunate enough to find our massive light and airy flat which still retained its original features and character. It became our tranquil haven within minutes of the city. Arriving home from work every day to our beautiful home filled us with the energy and recharge we needed to fulfil our busy jobs. Simple pleasures such as having a cup of tea in the kitchen/diner whilst looking over the pretty garden or closing our bedroom curtains at night and knowing that we wouldn't hear a thing until the birds started singing and the sun streamed through the high sash windows in the morning.
Weekends we enjoyed locally with lazy walks around Hilly Fields at the end of the road, late breakfast in a local cafe and then maybe a visit to the Horniman museum or Nunhead cemetery. In the last 8 years Brockley has grown in its offerings, more cafes, restaurant, pubs and amenities and most of all great public transport links but we still love the fact that it has retained its community feel and will always be our sanctuary in the city.
