Openrent is aimed at landlords renting whole properties not bedsits. People aren’t looking for cheap on Openrent they’re looking for studio flats with minimum £700 a month. You should use SpareRoom instead ...

Landlords still have the option of accepting you even if there are referencing problems. It sounds like you just failed the referencing process and the landlord decided not to rent to you, that is not Openrents fault. They won’t approved/ decline your references until all Of them have been contacted. ...

No issue with the deposit being taken - its having their system decide which scheme I must use. You're quite right - it's my liability hence none of their business. They need to support all 3 major deposit schemes or let the landlord deal with it. Nearly having an automated system doesn't cut it. As I said to them - It's no more ridiculous than them telling me which bank I should use ...

Openrent are fine for advertising but not for renting as they are very slow with references and passing on rent and it’s impossible to speak to them and a nightmare if you have international tenants ...

OpenRent aren't a letting Agent they're a property advertising company. They have never set foot in any of the properties they advertise, or inspect them (or the landlords who own them) and they ain't registered as Letting Agents in Scotland. Cowboys. ...

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed).
