Hi, just curious – I am a landlord who had convicted criminals put in my property ‘ fully’ referenced by an ‘independent’ referencing agency – the company was YOURMOVE and the referencing agency is not independent as it is owned by LSL who own YOURMOVE. When approached, YM said that the criminals had passed all reference checks but would not release to me any copies and thus they were NOT responsible for them. I went through their complaints procedures a ...

I'm primarily unhappy with the complete lack of communication, and any problems had to be forwarded to our landlady (who pays Martin&co a fee for a service they're not providing) to get dealt with. I'm unhappy that the contractors Martin & co hired, due to reasons mentioned above.

This is the worst service EVER!! 1) our tenant reported a problem (a damp patch) in the ceiling and the Estate Agent never dealt with it even though she was insisting it was getting worse and it was becoming a leak. They sent some one too late and then they said we would have to pay for some repairs. Thankfully the tenant had plenty of emails to prove the Agency's negligence and at the end the owner of the Agency admitted their fault and that they would pay for the damage... at the end they charged us for the costs (they say it was a mistake and that they would refund us) ...we were waiting for over 2 months and many emails to finally get paid. 2) They passed our spare keys to a decorator and never got them back (the decorator still has them after 2 months!) 3) Payments not going in on time; 4) The lovely tenant struggling to communicate with them; 4) They dont visit our property to check that everything is going fine; 5) ETC, ETC, ETC The only thing they're good at is at charging us the 10% management fee every month...

Dear Steve H Many thanks for your honest response. I do know the property you are referring to. I'm disappointed to read your comments. Very quickly I would like to say that your deposit was £2353 and was correctly registered with the DPS. They paid you back what you paid so there was no mistake from our part. I know you are a letting agent yourself and the 'legal wrangle' I think you are referring to we have never had any contact from any solicitor, neither has the owner. We do obviously disp ...

The agency should have lower fees and not charge for things such as extending ones contract, this is possible as other agencies operate this way. It would also help if the agency contacted Landlords quicker and sought their response when an issue arises. Furthermore, staff working here could have more knowledge about the properties they are letting and ensure they have spare keys if needed so they don't always need the tenant present when conducting new viewings.

No fees information available
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.

Complaints Procedure

We are registered with the Property Ombudsman redress system. But more important, you can call the Director Eduardo Prato directly on his mobile, day or night, if at any point you're not completely satisfied with our service.
