I was very pleased with the service provided by Gascoigne Pees. We actually lost our first buyer at the time of exchange and within 4 days, we had a cash buyer. Previous to this we had between 15-17 viewings and were alway's kept updated....

The house was valued at ‚£389,950. We sold ‚£14,950 under this incurring extra Solicitor's fees due to first buyer not going ahead. This together with agent's fees made final settlement amount lower than originally anticipated.

underestimated, we in fact received a higher offer, but declined to follow that through as they wanted to mess about with structural surveys and we wanted to progress the sale without delay so opted for a lower cash buyer who could proceed fast.

I know we paid below average compared to the rest of the country. (But London has crazy rates!) but I still feel it was a lot of money to pay. The house sold in under a week so really once the offer has been accepted what else do the agents have to do. (I'm sorry if that sounds like I am undermining estate agents) our solicitor has done a great deal of work for us and their fee was the same amount as the estate agents.

We were happy with the fees but felt on occations that the agents were working on behalf of the purchaser by pushing the sale price down even though it was the vendor who paid the fixed fee of ‚£2,500 plus vat = ‚£3,000, The fee was not adjusted to the sale price.
