I was less keen on the retainer deposit that has to be paid when an offer is accepted as this isn't normal practice. I understand the logic that it helps ensure both parties are committed to the transaction, but feel in that vein, if one party pulls out of the sale then some or all of the deposit should go to the party that lost out.
