I really liked the fact that all the fees were what you paid, nothing was hidden or added on at the end, ie VAT. The fees are in line with the majority of other reputable estate agents. However, I particularly liked they were my local agents with local knowledge.

A common misconception is that the agent is the landlord, they are not. The job of the agent is to take landlords instructions and carry them out to the best of their abilities. Penny Lane Homes (Johnstone) Ltd don't make any charges to tenants, the legislation was clarified a couple of years ago and it is illegal to charge some fees to tenants. They can only take landlords instructions in respect of accepting tenants into their property and application forms are processed as soon as possible given the above, the speed of references depends on how quickly the applicant employer/s and previous landlord reply to reference requests. ...
