Doorsteps do not make any commission on a sale so, that would have zero benefit to them. What's more likely to be the issue is the seller wanted to take the higher offer, probably demanding quite strongly to get in touch with you and take the abuse.
Money talks for the sellers and not no commission estate agents! ...

I agree 100%, that once you pay them, they are not interested whether you sale your property or not. I did not arrange an appointment for one viewer. They took my ad straight off. No discussion! I did think the photographer was highly skilled. The man who cam around for the EPC was professional. I found communication not great, but not bad either. Agent sent people round unannounced (said they booked but not forwarded to me), problems with the calibre of people viewing, agent not accepting my price at first.
