I had to threaten them with police action for harassment too after they broke open the door to our flat whilst my brother was sleeping in the apartment (he works night shifts) in order to conduct a viewing - even though we'd told them it wouldn't be convenient. God knows what that must have looked like to the prospective tennants. The employees at Square Mile are the most odious bunch of people you could ever have the misfortune to meet!! ...

I had the same experience as you when I moved in with Square Mile. The place was full of broken furnitures and mouldy mattress (Yes, broken, the study table was so wobbly that a pin would cause the whole thing to collapse). They promised to removed all broken items before, yet, when we moved in, those broken furnitures were all in the inventory sheet, and when we contacted square mile and informed them, they told us not to throw the broken furniture away, or we would be liable for the loss. Try to threaten them with letting watchdog. Maybe you are not aware, but they are required to process the return of your deposit within 2 weeks. There is a statutory law out there and if they do not process it within 2 weeks, then you can sue them. I threatened them with this law on Thursday evening, and miraculously, I received an email on Friday 5pm asking for my bank detail for the return of my deposit. ...

Arrogant t**t who worked in highgate now runs the crouch end office is the biggest waste of time i have ever met, he is more concerned with his "country manor" look than dealing with customers. Gave my boyfriend the wrong keys (im still convinced this was on purpose as my brother slated him on the phone for his actions) A horrible vile petty man AVOID!!!! ...

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
