Absolutely appalling. Do not pay a holding deposit, you'll never see it again. These people are utter charlatans. Will not listen to reason, are condescending, dismissive, insulting, aggressive. Name a negative adjective, it doesn't matter which one, it will fit. AVOID AT ALL COSTS....

What agent could do to change your mind?
They could have been honest, have integrity, show appropriate conduct, be professional. Not too much to ask is it? You won't see any of that behaviour from this bunch of criminals.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
