You can go to the council that have a department for dealing with private landlords ans making them do repairs. Or go to the shelter website they have a template letter which you can write to the landlord saying that if they do not do the work in fourteen days you will do the work yourself and take the money out of the rent. I have done this with kettering after living with a leak for months and guess what the repairs were cariied out in just over a week. Good luck ...

I can appreciate that propertys are snapped up quickly and that i was asked to call in the morning to give an answer. Personally me and my partner wanted to discuss the flat we saw together so making a snap decison there and then was not an option, to be told you will have first refusal and then be given just 15mins in the morning to ring you is my issue here, if was told the night before that because someone else was viewing and if they came to you first then it was theirs i would have no quams ...

I find it interesting that these 5 star reviews seem to be here amongst the overwhelming majority of 1 star awful reviews. It's like people connected with Belvoir are somehow trying to up the average, or something! I know they are a franchise, but something must be fundamentally wrong if there's so many negative reviews? I've had dealings with a Belvoir franchise in the past, and in certain areas match the general poor service described in the majority of reviews here. ...

One more down and a many more to go. Incredible how Belvoir sing and dance about how selective they are about the franchisees they select and the training etc. How many have folded/been investigated now? What I find funny is the occasional very general post giving R! 5 stars just to keep them off the front page of this web-site which shows the worst agents in the country. I am sure some provide good customer service but quite suspect that the posts may well be a little "fabricated"? ...

You would be charged a relet fee as you are wishing to be released from your tenancy obligations early - why should the landlord loose rent as your circumstances have changed? Belvoir nor the landlord HAVE to release you early, how much would you have paid in rent for those last 2 months? Also Belvoir set out all charges in paperwork at the start of your tenancy so you should have been aware of the check out charge. You are well within your rights to be present for the move out and maybe the leg ...

I had a similar problem with the same office few days ago. I wanted to move out after the break-clause, but apparently I would still have to pay them rent until the end of the contract. Look the wording of your contract on the break clause. If it says "The tenancy is subjected to a break clause AT 8 months whereby the tenant may give the Landlord two month notice to terminate the agreement..." It means that you have only one chance to move out. Give notice on the 8 month (not before and not ...

Truthhurts, I totally agree! This demand for financial records is a disgrace and a total invasion of your privacy when a simple copy of your wage slip and possibly your employment contract would suffice. It is not up to a letting agency to decide if you can pay the rent or not. I certainly would never give out my financial details like that and like your good self probably earn 3 times what the guy sat in their offices earns! I also have reservations about them contacting my company! I ...
