Thank you for taking the time to write this review. My name is Daniel and I am new lettings manager as of June 2013. I would be really keen to discuss this matter further with you and ensure that the money has indeed come back to you. Unfortunately, everything does remain subject to contract prior to both the agreements being sign executed and if a landlord decision is to pull out then there is not a great deal that we can do about it. None the less, please give me a call when you find the time ...

Sounds very similar to the experience I had. I'm still in a bedroom with no curtain rail, and no blinds. Lots of fixtures are broken and haven't been fixed even though it was promised. I've never experienced such appalling service. And no one ever calls you back or ever writes back, not even when you take it up with the area manager. It's seriously the biggest joke of an agency I've ever experienced. Never again.. I'm making sure everyone I know is aware of how bad they are. ...

[[EDIT ORIGINAL START]] We put in the highest offer for a house but were later told that our offer was put the vendor as "non procedable" because we were not willing to put our mortgage through them. Even though we were chain free with all the funds in place they did not recommend us! Instead the house was sold to a couple who did get their mortgage through BM. The Branch Manager pockets a nice £1000 everytime this happens - highly illegal and unethical. She and BM branch should be ashamed ...

It's all to do with complying with the new laws withregard to money laundering; you will find that the same applies when making a cash offer to buy a new buildhome just the same. It is basically an initial declaration of legitimate funding to buy the property. NO fault on the part of the Estate Agent here. ...

What agent could do to change your mind?
We had a nightmare experience with this agency and their employee Guy in particular. We had three weeks to move from Yorkshire to Sutton and we pre-arranged with Guy to view properties on a weekend (the only time we could both make it to London). One can imagine how much we spent on trains and the hotel in London to be there that weekend. It all started well - we were shown a property that we loved, we signed all necessary paperwork in their office and agreed on our moving date...BUT...while we were still on the train to the hotel, Guy rang us and informed that the landlord of this flat did not in fact own the property and he asked the agency to look for tenants while he was doing his paperwork. We were not informed about that by Guy when we first saw the place and when we signed all the documents. Nevertheless, Guy asked us not to worry and promised to sort it our for us. After not hearing from him for a week after that weekend, we started chasing him on the phone but he would just ignore our calls for TWO DAYS (he would either be on the phone, with another client, or in training). We then just rang one of his colleagues, who told us that there was no way we could get the property by the date we needed (and we have a feeling that Guy new about that all the way through). They did not take the admin fee, but they wasted our time and money for our trip. Guys treated us very unprofessionally and we would NEVER go with this agency again.
