I did eventually get a refund from Bairstows, but not before making several phone calls and writing to the area manager to voice my complaint in no uncertain terms, so fortunately did not need to go to the Property Ombudsman. I am in a similar situation. Moved into a property today let by Bairstoweves and found it in a disgusting state with broken doors, toilets, uncleaned and filthy!!!! Been a little more honest. Carried out proper Safety Checks on Property and Appliances. Carried out Repairs on all faults that I Reported rather than just ignor me. Carry out Checks on Landlords, I was in fear of the property being repossessed. Prevented the Fire that Occured 2 hours into the Tenancy of the first property I leased.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
